COM DEV employee killed in resort explosion

The Acting Chief Executive at COM DEV International in Cambridge has confirmed to 570 News that one of its employees is among the five Canadian victims in the Mexican resort explosion.
Mike Pley tells 570 News that Elgin Barron, a 14 year employee with the company died in the blast.
Barron was a purchaser with COM DEV and lived in Guelph.
Pley says the company is shocked by the tragedy and counselling services are being offered to staff.
Another employee, Larry Smith, who lives in Cambridge, was hurt in the explosion.
Smith has worked for COM DEV for 23 years. It is believed he suffered a back injury and underwent surgery.
