Cambridge hospital seeks staff

A shortage of doctors shouldn’t cause any impact at Cambridge Memorial Hospital.

CMH is scrambling to hire two more hospitalists, specifically, general duty doctors.

The  hospital has a contingency plan in place for this weekend.

CMH President and CEO Patrick Gaskin tells 570 News although they are short two staffers, the Chief of Staff and another community physician will provide coverage for inpatients.

But he stresses, this will not affect ER patients or speciality coverage.

He says those visiting the ER will not notice any change.

Gaskin says recruiting continues for the two vacancies, and they have been very successful with their efforts so far, recently hiring four new doctors.
