Case against accused in baby’s death put over

The court case involving the death of a 4-month old Cambridge girl has been put over to Friday pending new charges.

19-year old Sean Summers of Cambridge is charged with aggravated assault against his daughter Kayleigh Ingram-Summers, who died in Hamilton hospital Monday.

An autopsy is scheduled in Hamilton today.

This morning, Summers’ defence attorney, Brennan Smart, agreed to the new date for his client’s bail hearing.

Smart tells 570 News any new charges will be based on the results of the post mortem, scheduled for today.

In the meantime, Summers was ordered not to contact the mother of the deceased infant or her immediate family.

Members of Summers’ family were in attendance in the court room today but did not speak to reporters.

Summers himself only spoke to say yes he understood the no-contact order.
