Despite a different outcome, game two between the Kitchener Rangers and Saginaw Spirit had one constant; Edward Pasquale earned first-star honours.
In game two, back at home, Pasquale and the Spirit were able to shut down the Rangers offence and pull out the 3-2 win to even the series at ones.
Pasquale stopped 24-of-25 Rangers shots in the win.
Brandon Maxwell picked up the loss allowing 2 goals on 30 shots.
At the end of two periods the Spirit were up 2-0 before Michael Catenacci would put the Rangers on the board with a shorthanded marker.
But Barry Sanderson would pound in an empty netter to give Pasquale and the Spirit their first win of the series.
The Rangers will try and solve Pasquale on Monday at The Aud.
