The summer that wasn’t

Researchers at the University of Waterloo say the biggest local weather story of 2009 was the summer that wasn’t.

Frank Seglenieks says the temperature never reached above 27 degrees between late June and early August.

Despite a lack of beach weather, Seglenieks says a poll he conducted found 66-per cent were still pleased with the summer.

Even though 2009 was in the average range for temperatures overall, it was the coldest year we’ve had since 2003.
