The Olympic Torch left Kitchener this morning, making its way to Guelph, then Erin, then Owen Sound later tonight. Today’s journey began at Kitchener City Hall around 6:30.
It was given a fond farewell this morning by about 400 people including a group of Aboriginal People who performed a song and dance.
Secretary of Awishnabe Outreach of Kitchener Waterloo, Perry Stevens, says feedback from the region has been good. Chair of the Celebration task force Anne Biladeau echoes Stevens, and says that Aboriginal Outreach has been a huge help.
