Hold and secure lifted at Jacob Hespeler SS in Cambridge (update)

Jacob Hespeler Secondary School in Cambridge was briefly placed in hold and secure on Thursday morning.

It was due to a police investigation on Holiday Inn Drive.

A police spokesperson tells CityNews, earlier in the day they received a report of a social media post threatening harm against the school.

Police determined the post originated in the United States and it was deemed not to be a viable threat to Jacob Hespeler.

They add there is no concern for public safety.

Meantime, all of the school's home and away games today have been cancelled. Staff are looking into the possibility of rescheduling them.
