A retail cannabis chain is rolling out a new service to bring pot to your front door.
Tokyo Smoke says a number of locations, including their store in Cambridge, are now offering a contactless delivery option when you order product online.
Melissa Gallagher, Tokyo Smoke's Director of Franchising, says they made the decision after the province allowed it amid their emergency orders.
“Customers can go online, place their order and receive it in just a matter of hours at their front door step,” she said.
It's a new option, on top of their Click and Collect service that was put in place March 27.
As per provincial guidelines, the employees at the store will be the ones doing the deliveries.
“We've got the store teams trained, and ready to go for the delivery service,” Gallagher said, “So you will see one of your local educators, who will be dropping off the order at your front door.”
“We do have a lot of team members who are excited to be able to offer this service, so certainly no shortage of drivers as we fill demand.”
The Cambridge location will deliver to addresses in Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge and Guelph.
Tokyo Smoke says they're keeping strict to enhanced health and safety standards, including that drivers wash their hands and sanitize between deliveries.
Notifications can be pushed to customers after their order is placed, and you're asked to have ID ready at the door so everything is easy and contactless.
The other locations in Ontario offering delivery are Toronto, Ottawa, Stoney Creek, Thunder Bay and North Bay.
