Ontario Premier Doug Ford confirmed Thursday that the legislature will convene August 8.
A speaker will be elected on that day.
On August 9, Lieutenant Governor Elizabeth Dowdeswell will deliver the throne speech.
Ford's Conservative government won a second majority back on June 2.
Two of the five MPPs from Waterloo Region will be heading to the legislature for the first time — Brian Riddell (Cambridge) and Jess Dixon (Kitchener South-Hespeler).
Mike Harris (Kitchener-Conestoga), Laura Mae Lindo (Kitchener Centre) and Catherine Fife (Waterloo), were all re-elected.
Harris, Riddell and Dixon were all recently named parliamentary assistants.
