Sarah Marsh has announced she will not be seeking a third term on Kitchener city council.

Marsh is the current city councillor for Ward 10.

In a post on social media Tuesday, Marsh said it has been an “honour” to serve as the Ward 10 representative for the past eight years.

“My sincere and deep gratitude goes out to all those I've had the pleasure to work alongside in our city-building endeavours, including residents, community groups, cultural institutions, artists, activists, businesses, city staff, colleagues and other partners.” Marsh wrote.

“I'm proud of what we accomplished together in this time of unprecedented growth.” the statement went on to say.

Nominations to run in the October 24 municipal election close this Friday afternoon.

There are currently four candidates in the running to replace Marsh in Ward 10 — Aislinn Clancy, Peter Davis, Lana Hiscock and Stephanie Stretch.
