Guelph police discover suspected drug lab in storage unit

Guelph police have laid charges after breaking up a suspected drug lab in the Royal City.

A call about suspicious activity at an east-end self-storage facility, sparked the investigation.

While police were at the facility, a 33-year-old Guelph man showed up and was arrested.

Search warrants were obtained for the man’s residence and a storage unit. They were executed on Thursday.

Investigators uncovered quantities of suspected drugs as well as large amounts of chemicals, lithium batteries, a scale, coveralls, and glass jars.

The man has since been charged with the production of dimethyltryptamine, commonly known as the psychedelic D.M.T.

He has a court day on September 1.
