Four injured, senior killed in Wilmot crash

It was tragic long weekend on Waterloo Region roadways.

Waterloo regional police said a woman was killed in a crash in Wilmot Township, a crash that also sent four others to hospital.

On Saturday afternoon, just before 5:00 p.m., police were called to the Bridge Street and Diamon Road intersection.

Police said the two-car crash involved a grey Toyota and white Honda, with the driver of the Toyota pronounced dead at the scene.

Her name has not been released, but police said she was a 70-year-old woman from Wilmot Township.

In the other vehicle the driver, a 24-year-old man from Kitchener and three other passengers were hurt. One of them had to be sent to an out-of-region hospital with life-threatening injuries.

No charges have been laid at this time time. The investigation is ongoing.
