Gun pulled in Cambridge, five youths arrested

Four people have been arrested by regional police following a weapons incident in Cambridge.

It happened Saturday night at roughly 10:55 p.m. with police responding to the incident at a parking lot near Franklin Boulevard and Can-Amera Parkway.

A group of suspects wearing masks confronted five young males with a verbal argument ensuing, and one of the masked suspects pulling out a firearm.  

The victims then fled in their vehicles, with the suspects pursuing in their own. All vehicles stopped on Elgin Street North, with the suspects getting out and damaging the suspects vehicle.

They then fled the scene but were found by police a short distance away and taken into custody.

Four youths from Cambridge, two aged 16 and one aged 17, as well as an 18-year-old from Waterloo are all now facing charges.

Those charges include:

  • Weapons dangerous
  • Assault with a weapon
  • Mischief under $5,000
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm

No injuries were reported from the victims, and the accused have been held for a bail hearing.
