Waterloo senior dies in e-bike incident

Waterloo regional police are investigating a fatal e-bike incident on Victoria Day.

Early Monday morning, around 2:30 a.m., an e-bike rider was found unconscious in the King Street South and William Street East area, on the south end of Uptown Waterloo.

The 71-year-old Waterloo man was pronounced dead in hospital.

Police do not believe any other vehicles were involved in the incident.

King Street South was closed for the investigation, but was reopened later in the day.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Waterloo Regional Police Service.
