Late night break-in at Baden home happened while residents were asleep

There’s been another residential break-in that happened while the residents were asleep inside.

The latest instance happened overnight on Oct. 7 at a home on Michael Myers Road in Baden.

A thief, or thieves, entered the residence and stole property before leaving.

Anyone who lives in the neighbourhood and has surveillance video from 11:30 p.m. on Oct. 7 to 4 a.m. on Oct. 8 is asked to submit it to investigators.

This comes after a separate break-in was reported a week ago on Dooley Drive in Kitchener.

In that incident, a suspect got in through a side garage door while the homeowners were sleeping. The individual stole property and fled in a four-door sedan, that was parked on the street with its lights flashing.

A few days later, another person was caught on camera walking up the driveway to the same home.

“No entry to the home was attempted. It is unknown if the two incidents are connected,” read a media release from police.

Police are reminding all residents to take steps to help deter thieves; that includes keeping valuables out of plain sight, and making sure all windows and doors are locked at all times.
