Three people were sent to hospital, including one who was airlifted, after back-to-back crashes on Highway 7 in Breslau.
The first collision was reported around 6 a.m. Monday between Greenhouse Road and Shantz Station Road and involved two vehicles.
“Shortly after that initial collision, there was a secondary collision,” said Acting Sgt. Nicola Morris with the OPP Highway Safety Division.
Morris said three cars collided in the second crash, including one that rolled over. The female driver of that vehicle was taken to hospital by air ambulance.
Her injuries were initially described as critical but were later downgraded to non-life-threatening.
Two other people were hurt in the collisions, although the extent of their injuries was not immediately known. OPP said a pet was also recovered from the scene.
“There was actually a dog that was uninjured also in the collision, and that’s with animal control awaiting its owner,” Morris said.
Highway 7 was fully closed in the area for four hours during the busy morning commute. The investigation into the collisions remains ongoing.
OPP want to hear from any witnesses, including those with dash cam video.
