Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health launches fall vaccination clinics

By CityNews Kitchener Staff

Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph (WDG) Public Health has opened appointments for its 2023 fall respiratory vaccine clinics, which are offering flu shots and COVID-19 vaccines.

The associate medical officer of health for that area, Dr. Matthew Tenenbaum, said WDG Public Health is already seeing the ‘rapid return’ of COVID-19, RSV, and seasonal flu so far this fall.

“Any of these viruses can pose serious health risks especially for those who are particularly vulnerable because of age or an underlying medical condition,” said Dr. Tenenbaum in a release. “Each of us can reduce our individual risk and protect our community by choosing to get vaccinated as soon as we are able, wearing a mask and staying home when ill. We know what works to keep us safe and well. I’m asking everyone to start making use of these tools right away.”

Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph residents can book an appointment for the respiratory vaccine clinics online by clicking here, or by phone at 1-800-265-7293 ext. 7006.
