Waterloo man facing 17 charges after break-in near Laurier

A 25-year-old man from Waterloo is facing a long list of charges following a reported break and enter near Wilfrid Laurier University.
According to regional police, officers responded on Wednesday morning around 12:40 a.m. to the area of Bricker Avenue and Albert Street in Waterloo following a call from Laurier's Special Constable Service – requesting assistance after catching a man allegedly breaking into an apartment building.
Taking over the investigation, regional police charged a 25-year-old man from Waterloo with 17 criminal offences including break and enter, trespass near a dwelling house, possession of stolen mail, five counts of possession of stolen goods under $5,000 and more.
The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing.
