16-year-old from Cambridge charged in fatal North Dumfries crash

Charges have been laid following an instance of extreme speeding and a fatal North Dumfries crash that killed a man riding a lawn tractor.
According to regional police, the incident happened on June 15 when a vehicle full of teens was travelling 191 km/h down Clyde Road in the township, a 50 km/h zone according to police, meaning they were going nearly four times over the limit.
The vehicle collided with a 51-year-old man riding a lawn tractor, who was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
There were no injuries reported amongst the four teens who were in the speeding vehicle.
On Wednesday, the 16-year-old driver of the vehicle, a girl from Cambridge, was charged with dangerous operation of a vehicle causing death, speeding, and two counts of stunt driving.
The three other teens in the vehicle at the time, ages 15, 16, and 17, were also arrested and charged with two counts each of failing to comply with a release order.
