Walmart Supercentre opening at Fairview Park Thursday

By CityNews Kitchener Staff

Walmart is getting ready to reopen its store at CF Fairview Park in Kitchener. It will become a Supercentre on Thursday, July 29.

The retailer says the renovation represents a $16 million reinvestment in the store, located at 2960 Kingsway Drive.

The newly remodelled store is now 125,000 square feet.

“We are thrilled about this grand opening in Kitchener as we aim to make the shopping experience simpler, faster, convenient and more pleasant for our customers,” store manager Julie Woods said in a news release.

“We’re excited to unveil the results of a much-anticipated, year-long renovation. Our customers will benefit from having an expanded assortment of products and the ability to choose to shop in-store or online with in-store pickup or home delivery. We also know the new Supercentre will make grocery shopping very convenient for nearby residents and they will enjoy seeing familiar associates from the now closed Stanley Park Walmart store.” Woods added.

The store will employ roughly 200 people. Available positions can be found at careers.walmart.ca.

It will be Walmart's fifth Supercentre in the area.
