Kitchener’s Jamal Murray leads Nuggets to some NBA history

A year ago, Canadian basketball fans were elated by Kawhi Leonard's buzzer beater to lead the Toronto Raptors to a Game 7 win in a conference semi-final.
This year, Leonard was on the losing end of things, thanks in part to another monster performance from Kitchener native Jamal Murray.
Murray had a game-high 40 points, as the Denver Nuggets eliminated the LA Clippers with a 104-89 win in Game 7 of their NBA Western Conference semi-final series.
It got the attention of Kitchener residents, including Mayor Berry Vrbanovic.
“Wow! Just wow! I know I shouldn't be, but just blown away by this guy tonight. Hard working, down to earth, a genuinely caring Canadian & man, can he play BBall!” Vrbanovic tweeted, “@BeMore27 – you killed it & yet again you made your hometown, @CityKitchener & your country #Canada so proud tonight!”
Murray was one of the top trending topics on social media nationwide through the night, while Kitchener cracked the top 10 as well.
It's the first time in NBA history that a team has come back from multiple 3-1 series deficits in the same post-season.
Murray and the Nuggets will now play LeBron James and the LA Lakers in the Western Conference Final.
