Local political scientist to head to Calgary

A well respected local political scientist is heading west. David Docherty will leave Wilfrid Laurier University this summer to become President of Mount Royal University in Calgary.

He calls it a tremendous opportunity, both personally and professionally.

Docherty joined Laurier in 1994 and held a number of senior positions
including chair of the Department of Political Science and Dean of the Faculty of Arts.

He will complete the current school term at Laurier and start his new job on August 1st.
