Annual snowplow truck Roadeo drives through Waterloo

The annual Truck Roadeo saw employees from local road department’s across the Waterloo Region compete against one another.
The Roadeo was held Thursday, along Kressler Road in Heidelberg. Where snowplow drivers from across the region gathered to show off some of their skills.
The event saw competitors face off in a range of challenges. Including getting as close to an object while backing up without touching it, driving through and around tight turns, and lifting the plow over different objects.
In July, the Roadeo visited Cambridge for a competition. Zach Dymond, Chris Rickard, Wesley Tavares, and Adam Daniel placed in the top-4 and moved on to the next stage. They would face off against drivers from the Cities of Kitchener and Waterloo, as well as the Townships of North Dumfries, Wellesley, Wilmot, Woolwich and the Region of Waterloo.
Wayne Wideman from Waterloo was the winner of the event, while Dannis Jantzi from Kitchener took second place.
With their win, they will to move on to the AORS Provincial Roadeo in Owen Sound, set for September.
