Rapid Chess Tournament to begin play in Waterloo

There’s good news for chess players in the Waterloo Region; the Rapid Chess Tournament will begin play Aug 1st.
The event will host official Chess Federation of Canada (CFC) matches and give participants a chance to win prizes.
The tournament will feature five rounds of rapid chess, with prizes being awarded to the top 3 finalists, and best U20 player.
Entry Fees:
- $20/CFC members
- $32/non-CFC adult players
- $26/non-CFC youth players
The tournament will be held in Waterloo, in the Vector Space, at 187 King Street South. There is free on-site and underground parking available.

There is also an option for those interested in chess, but don’t know how to play or want to get better.
The Vector Space is also hosting ongoing paid chess classes four days a week through the rest of August.
Open on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., until Aug 22nd.
