Man charged in human trafficking investigation

A Kitchener man is facing a long list of charges after an eight-month human trafficking investigation.

Waterloo regional police have charged 35-year-old Tyson Vanderpool.

Human trafficking and advertising sexual services are among the eight charges.

The investigation is ongoing, as police believe there could be more victims involved.

Anyone with information is asked to reach out to the Waterloo Regional Police Service (WRPS) Human Trafficking Unit at 519-570-9777, extension 8664, or by email at intel.ht@wrps.on.ca.

It comes as WRPS statistics show the rate of victimization of human trafficking in Waterloo Region is 70% greater than the Ontario rate and 178% greater than the national rate.
