Kitchener man, woman face charges in human trafficking case after alleged kidnapping

A man and a woman from Kitchener are facing charges for allegedly kidnapping a female victim.

Waterloo Regional Police say the human trafficking investigation began in April when the victim was found unharmed.

The arrests were made on Tuesday, after officers executed a search warrant at a home in the Doon South area of Kitchener.

A 22-year-old woman and a 35-year-old man are charged with forcible confinement, kidnapping and procuring.

Police do not specify the age of the victim, or how she got free from the alleged kidnapping.

Investigators would still like to hear from anyone who has information about what happened, and they can contact the WRPS Human Trafficking Team at intel.ht@wrps.on.ca.
