Two arrests made in drugs, firearm investigation in KW

Two men have been arrested following a drug and firearm investigation in Kitchener and Waterloo.

The Waterloo Regional Police Service’s Street Crimes Unit completed two search warrants in the two cities Friday.

Officers say they seized multiple drugs, including suspected methamphetamine and fentanyl. A handgun with ammunition was also seized, along with two replica firearms.

A 44-year-old Waterloo man and a 44-year-old Kitchener man were both arrested.

They’re facing multiple charges, including four counts of possession of a prohibited weapon and three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking.

One of the accused was also charged with possession of a firearm contrary to the prohibition order.

The investigation remains ongoing.
