Arthur Street South reopens after transport truck crash south of Elmira

A closure previously in place for traffic heading between St. Jacobs and Elmira has now been cleared.

It was on Wednesday morning, just after 7 a.m., when traffic spotters reported a transport truck crash on Arthur Street South, through the area of Scotch Line Road just south of Elmira.

It wasn’t long afterward that Waterloo regional police confirmed a closure in place on that major roadway, stretching between Scotch Line and Listowel Road.

A spokesperson with the service said the collision involved a transport truck that “turned over,” blocking northbound and southbound lanes of traffic on Arthur Street South. Minor injuries have been reported.

Arthur Street South reopened just before 11 a.m. on Wednesday.
