Cold weather in forecast after brief region warm-up

Following a brief patch of spring, the region will experience more winter weather as the weekend wraps up.

Warmer temperatures saw snow melting across the region, which was followed by freezing rain on Saturday.

All that snow melt and freezing rain has since frozen over, creating some very icy conditions to start Sunday morning.

That’s all accompanied by flurries in the forecast for Sunday, with two centimetres of snow expected by the end of the day.

The cold and snow continue throughout the week as well, with Environment Canada calling for a chance of flurries through to Thursday.

Residents are reminded to take caution if travelling while the roads and sidewalks are still icy, so watch your footing and your driving if you’re out and about today.
