Charges laid after pedestrian hit by car in Kitchener

Regional police have laid charges against a driver after hitting a pedestrian in Kitchener.

It all happened on December 21 around 8:45 p.m. at the intersection of Kingswood Drive and Block Line Road.

Police say the driver of a Honda SUV struck a pedestrian at the intersection, which lead to it being closed for several hours for an investigation.

The pedestrian, a 53-year-old man from Kitchener, was taken to an out-of-region hospital with serious injuries.

The driver, a 38-year-old man from Kitchener was not hurt, and now faces a charge of careless driving causing bodily harm.

“Police would like to thank the several witnesses and citizens whom provided assistance, and contacted emergency services,” said a press release.
