More trains added on Kitchener GO line to Union Station

A couple of additional options for Kitchener to Toronto GO commuters starting Monday.

Starting April 27, GO Transit is adding two more express trains to the Kitchener GO line heading to and from Union Station.

“This is another step in the government’s plan to fight gridlock and connect more people to jobs and housing,” reads an update from The Ministry of Transportation (MTO).

It includes a morning train leaving Union at 8:49 a.m. and arriving in Kitchener at 10:26 a.m., as well as a 3:43 p.m. train leaving Kitchener and arriving at Union at 5:17 p.m.

The express trips will not stop at Acton, Georgetown, Malton, Etobicoke North, Weston or Mount Dennis GO stations. The change comes as the MTO looks “to better reflect actual travel times.”

It comes as additional train trips were also announced heading west of Waterloo Region.

Metrolinx is set to send trains to Stratford starting July 6.
