Highway 24 reopens following collision between Cambridge and Brantford

An single-vehicle collision led to a multi-hour closure on Highway 24 between Cambridge and Brantford Thursday.

Reports came in before 5 a.m. of the crash between Blue Lake Road and German School Road, with callers stating that emergency vehicles were on site, working to detour traffic around the area.

That closure led to delays at both ends of the closure, and the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) reported hydro line repairs were needed following the crash.

Alongside the crash, GrandBridge Energy stated that the collision led to a power outage in the area, impacting over 1,200 residents around the St. George area.

Highway 24 fully reopened around 1:30 p.m. Thursday and power was fully restored around the same time.
