Kitchener Rangers snap losing skid in win over Guelph

The Kitchener Rangers broke a three-game losing streak in dramatic fashion over their rivals from down Highway 7 on Tuesday night at The Aud.

The Blueshirts took down the Guelph Storm 3-1 in front of 6,300 fans, with goals from forwards Jack Pridham, Cameron Arquette and Luke Ellinas.

The Rangers improved to 28 points on the season, good enough for fifth place in the Western Conference, and tied with the Owen Sound Attack.

“Our offensive game was really good,” said Rangers Head Coach Jussi Ahokas. “We created a ton of chances. Our breakouts were good. Maybe our last pass in the end, just to score a little bit more, is where we could’ve been a little bit better.”

The Rangers will look to continue winning when they play host to the Ottawa 67’s on Friday. The team from the nation’s capital has eight wins in their last nine games.

According to the CHL, an announcement is expected by Friday on whether Kitchener or Guelph will host the 2027 Memorial Cup.
