Kitchener Rangers announce operational staffing shake up

The Kitchener Rangers have announced a staffing shake up in their hockey operations department with some familiar names taking on new roles.
Brad Flynn is moving up from Assistant Coach to Associate Coach after a vacancy was left by Jeff Kyrzakos, who was recently named the team’s new Head Coach.
Michael Zsolt is taking the title of Associate General Manager. He first joined the Rangers in 2017 as Director of Analytics and served as Assistant General Manager the past five seasons.
“Michael will continue to be involved in all areas of hockey operations, including scouting, team management, player recruiting and player development,” read a release from the Rangers. “He will continue to oversee the team’s use of analytics, which is closely integrated within all aspects of hockey operations.”
Brandon Merli is taking on additional duties for the upcoming season under a new title of Director of Sports Science and Player Development.
In addition to Kyrzakos heading the coaching staff, the Rangers also recently announced Nick Spaling as Assistant Coach and Jake Paterson as Goalie and Video Coach.
The Kitchener Rangers are gearing up for the 2026-27 season following their OHL Championship and Memorial Cup victories last season.
