Rangers welcome Frontenacs for Remembrance Day game

The Kitchener Rangers will be looking add a fifth game to their winning streak, as they welcome the Kingston Frontenacs for the annual Remembrance Day game.

The Rangers are coming off a convincing win on Friday, where they defeated the visiting Saginaw Spirit 5-2. Former head coach Pete Deboer was also the first inductee into the Rangers Level of Legacy before the matchup.

Currently, the Rangers sit atop the Midwest Division with a record of 12-3-2-0 and 26 points.

A special 20th edition of the Kitchener Rangers Remembrance Day jersey will be worn by the players for Sunday’s matchup, to recognize the 110th anniversary of the Second Battle of Ypres. The jersey will also honour the poem In Flanders Fields, written by Canadian soldier Lieutenant-Colonel John McCrae. The white and blue jersey features the design of “The Brooding Soldier”, also known as the St. Julien Canadian Memorial in Langemark, Belgium.

One jersey will be available during an online auction, with proceeds going to the 78th Fraser Highlanders Fort Conestoga Garrison and the Kitchener-Waterloo Poppy Fund through Rangers Reach.

Puck drop is at 2 p.m.
