Rangers best Attack on home ice for fourth time this season

The Kitchener Rangers are undefeated on home ice against the Owen Sound Attack after besting them 3-2 at the Aud in an intense back-and-forth match Friday night.

The tone of the game was set in the first period. Neither was team able to get a puck in net for the first 10 minutes, then Andrew Vermuelen put the Rangers on the board.

The attack got one of their own later in the first, but Cameron Reid would put the Blueshirts in the lead getting a goal with less than 15 seconds on the clock.

The second period wasn’t as kind to the Rangers, with Owen Sound netting the puck to tie the game at two a piece before heading into the third.

he third period became tense, mirroring the first, with neither team able to get a goal for the first 10 minutes.

Christian Humphreys would save the day for the Rangers, scoring the game winning goal with just over five minutes to go in the game.

Goaltender Christian Kirsch earned himself first star honors for the game, stopping 34 shots on net to help the East Avenue Blues secure the win.

The Rangers are off for today but will be back in action on Sunday when they head to Guelph to take on the Storm.
