Man charged following vehicle fire in Woolwich Township

An early morning vehicle fire prompted an investigation by Waterloo Regional Police Service.
On Sunday, around 2:15 a.m., emergency services responded to reports of a vehicle fully engulfed in flames in a field near Three Bridges Road in Woolwich Township.
Responders conducted a search of the area with assistance from the Canine and Traffic Services, believing the driver may have serious injuries.
The driver was located in a nearby residence. Officers determined he was inside unlawfully.
As a result of the investigation, the 47-year-old man has been charged with the following:
- Unlawfully in a dwelling;
- Dangerous operation;
- Fail to remain;
- Drive while under suspension.
