Victim struck by vehicle, gun in Uptown Waterloo armed robbery

Police are searching for a group of suspects following a violent early morning robbery in the area of Uptown Waterloo.

It was around 2 a.m. on Friday morning when officers were called out to the area of Waterloo Town Square in Uptown Waterloo for the robbery.

Police said the victim was walking through a nearby parking lot when they were chased by a suspect vehicle and eventually struck.

Two of the suspects were seen to be wielding firearms, using one to allegedly hit the victim over the head before stealing their property, the press release reads. Those suspects then fled the area before police arrived.

It’s believed that there were anywhere from two to five individuals involved in the robbery, all described as South Asian men in their early twenties. Those men were wearing masks at the time of the incident.
