Senior walking his dog in Guelph left with concussion after attack

A 69-year-old dog walker was left with a concussion after he was allegedly attacked in Guelph.

Police in the Royal City said it happened around 9:00, Sunday night, near Westwood Road and Imperial Road North.

They said the victim was out with his dog and had a brief talk with another man walking a dog on the other side of the street.

The second man, the suspect, allegedly accused the victim of looking at him.

Police said the victim walked away, but was then tackled from behind, hitting his head and face on the sidewalk.

Police are still looking for the other dog walker.

He’s described as a Black male in his mid-20s, about 5’11”, and at the time was wearing a bright orange jacket and black toque.

He was walking a light brown or tan boxer-style dog with a curly tail.
