Charges laid for a stabbing in Kitchener from one month before

Assault with a weapon is just one of the charges being laid after a stabbing incident in Kitchener from about one month ago.

The investigation began on the morning of Aug. 15, when police were called out to the scene of a stabbing around College Street and Duke Street in Kitchener.

Waterloo regional police said at that time a 63-year-old man had been stabbed and taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The attacker was gone by the time officers arrived at the call.

Investigators later released a photo of a suspect, making an arrest as recently as Tuesday.

A 43-year-old man is now facing charges of aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and breach of probation order.
