Drugs and replica gun seized during traffic stop in Woolwich Township

A wanted Kitchener man has been arrested following a traffic stop near the Waterloo International Airport.

On July 25 around 8 p.m., members of the Crime Suppression Analysis and Response Street Crime Team and the North Direct Action Response Team (DART), with assistance from the Emergency Response Team (ERT) conducted the stop.

The passenger of the vehicle was arrested on a warrant for Criminal Harassment and two counts of Breach of Probation.

Following the arrest, police seized a “significant quantity” of suspected illicit drugs and an airsoft gun.

The suspect has now additionally been charged with Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose, Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking and Breach of Probation.

The suspect was held in custody for a bail hearing.
