Two alleged speedsters nabbed in evening enforcement blitz

Two local motorists will be without their driver’s licences for 30 days after being caught by regional police during speed enforcement efforts on Monday.
Waterloo regional police shared the results of a busy evening on social media yesterday in the 8 p.m. hour.
The first, a 21-year-old Cambridge man, was stopped in the area of Townline Road after being clocked travelling at 118 km/h in a 60 km/h zone.
Officers with the Traffic Services’ unit have charged him with stunt driving, speeding and careless driving, bringing a 30-day driver’s licence suspension and a 14-day vehicle impoundment.
The second motorist was spotted by the service’s Neighbourhood Policing Rural Patrol during speed enforcement operations in the area of Arthur Street South.
The 22-year-old Kitchener man behind the wheel was allegedly travelling at 141 km/h in an 80km/h zone.
He has also been charged with speeding, stunt driving, careless driving and failing to have an insurance card.
Those charges also include a 14-day vehicle impoundment and 30-day vehicle impoundment.
