It looks as if Mother Nature plans on offering up a warm, dry weekend to celebrate Father’s Day, perfect for a day on the golf course or a backyard BBQ.
Temperatures from Friday through Sunday are predicted to hover around the mid-twenties.
According to 570’s Meteorologist Jill Taylor, there is a slim chance of rain throughout the weekend, but the wet weather is expected to miss Waterloo Region entirely.
“Just a brief cooldown over the next couple of days, then we’ll start to heat things up,” Taylor said. “Most areas should stay dry but just the potential for some showers today, tomorrow and Sunday. But it’s very small chances.”
You could also see an increase in the number of motorcycles on the roadways this Friday the 13th as thousands of motorcyclists make the trip down to Port Dover for an annual gathering.
OPP Sergeant Ed Sanchuk is remind the public to be mindful and share the roadways for the safety of those on two wheels.
“Roadways are communities in themselves that we all need to share, so if you are travelling up to intersections, please, do me a favour, check twice, it’s going to save a life,” Sanchuk said.
By Tuesday, Taylor expects the temperatures to soar into the mid-thirties, with the potential for the humidity to make it feel like 36 C.
