Annual Hike for Hospice returns to Cambridge

Individuals, families and large groups will make their way through Riverbluff Park today for the 16th anniversary of the Lisaard & Innisfree Hospice Hike for Hospice.

The hike is kicking off at 10 a.m. with a goal to help raise funds for hospice care here in the region.

A virtual option is open for participants who aren’t in the region to help. Those attending in person are also welcome to bring their furry companions, as long as they remain on leash.

According to Sarah Ainsworth, the Fund Development Coordinator, less than half of every dollar spent by the organization comes from the province. Fifty-two per cent comes from fundraisers like this one.

All the proceeds from the fundraiser will remain local, going towards ‘supporting our residents and their families through the end-of-life journey and beyond into bereavement.’

Lisaard & Innisfree Hospice offers individualized care for its residents, including things like music and art therapy, as well as bereavement support, all of which are possible thanks to their donors.

This years fundraising goal is $130,000, and you can register for the hike online at the Lisaard and Inissfree website.
