Farwell4Hire 50/50 hits major milestone in fundraising

By CityNews Kitchener Staff

The Farwell4Hire campaign has only one day left, but it continues to hit major milestones.

With the clock ticking down, the month-long 50/50 fundraiser for Cystic Fibrosis Canada tipped over $140,000. That means someone will be getting more than $70,000 to take home.

However, the money raised so far has come with a cost, with Talk Show Host Mike Farwell having to wear the gear of “The Team That Will Not Be Named” during the Mike Farwell Show on 570 NewsRadio.

On Wednesday, it was oven mitts and a Montreal Canadiens hat and scarf. On Thursday, here comes the jersey, and the hot wings.

Farwell is taking the “Canadiens Plunge” with the jackpot soaring to $140,000.

He promised the red, blue and white team paraphernalia would also come with a pound of hot wings from Morty’s Pub. Which he will eat while on the air.

You can get your tickets at CF5050.ca

Friday is the Grand Prize Draw! The winner will be announced at 12:15 p.m..
