Mike Farwell is getting his hands dirty all month long as he keeps on truckin’ towards an ambitious goal of raising $1.5 million for Cystic Fibrosis research.
He isn’t just raising money, he’s also handing it out.
The first Farwell4Hire Early Bird Draw winner was announced on Friday, May 9.
Jeff Hambly is taking home $2,500 cash thanks to Erik Kuttis and TLC Pet Food.
Kuttis even kept the generosity going, donating $2,500 to the campaign itself and making a pledge.
“If we can find another business by Monday to contribute and donate $2,500 to the Farwell4Hire campaign, TLC Pet Food will match that dollar-for-dollar,” Kuttis said.
It took less than 30 minutes for that call to be answered by Grant with OHS Landscape Group.
Farwell was floored.
“I’m a talk show host Grant, I’m supposed to have words to say… and you just left me speechless.”
Farwell added, “Grant, I am beyond grateful for this. Thank you, thank you very much.”
Farwell will be doing odd jobs throughout May in support of the campaign.
You can hire him or donate online at farwell4hire.com and get your 50/50 raffle tickets at cf5050.ca.
There’s still more Early Bird Draw prizes to give away: a VIP Kitchener Rangers experience, $1,500 cash courtesy of the Better Business Bureau, and $1,000 cash courtesy of TLC Pet Food.
The Grand Prize draw is happening May 30. As of Friday afternoon, the Take Home Prize was more than $28,300.
