While Waterloo Region may have pushed through the worst of its latest winter storm surge, there are still some active weather conditions..
A blowing snow advisory has been issued, with high winds of up to 70 km/h gusting throughout the region. Drivers are asked to travel with caution as blowing snow could create harsh conditions on the roads.
The Regio of Waterloo has said that its significant weather event will officially wrap up at 12 p.m. on Family Day.
Snow events are still in effect throughout the region, with most wrapping up at 11:59 p.m. Monday night. Residents are being asked to stay off the roads as much as possible as cleanup continues from the two surges seen last week.
With the weather events, on-street parking bans will also continue. Drivers could face possible fines, tickets, or even be towed if vehicles are parked on the roads.
The region could still see mixed flurries through the rest of Monday and into Tuesday.
It’ll also be a chilly week as highs of just -9 C are expected into Thursday before temperatures slowly make their way upward to the freezing mark by the weekend.
