The red hot Kitchener Rangers are on the road tonight with a date with the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds.
Kitchener is riding a three-game win streak that began with a 5-2 victory over the league leading London Knights. This string of victories has helped the Rangers move past the Windsor Spitfires for second place overall in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL), five points back of London.
The solid play has also caught the attention of the league as evidenced by Kitchener’s move into first place in the weekly OHL Power Rankings. It’s the first time the Knights have fallen from the top spot since early November.
Turning to tonight’s action, the Hounds have struggled of late losing six of their last ten. They sit at the bottom of the West Division, 15th overall.
After Jan. 29, Kitchener will cross the border for a date with Flint on Friday before a match-up with Saginaw on Saturday. The road trip concludes in London on Tuesday, Feb. 4.
