Two arrested and charged after armed robbery in Woolwich

Waterloo Regional Police have arrested two people after a robbery in Woolwich.

The incident happened Friday night around 10 p.m. in the Farmers Market Rd. and King Street North area. Officers say two suspects were at a business attempting to steal items when a staff member went up to one of the suspects.

A knife was pulled out and threats were made towards the employee. The employee then called police.

When police arrived they quickly found the two suspects and placed them under arrest.

A 45-year-old man and 43-year-old woman are facing multiple charges including robbery, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, uttering threats to cause death, and theft under $5,000.

They will appear in court next month.
