Kitchener driver charged for Hwy. 24 crash that sent 5 to hospital

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged a Kitchener driver for a collision south of Cambridge that put five people in hospital.

A statement from the Brant detachment of the OPP say it was a two-vehicle crash from around 6:15, Thursday morning, on Highway 24, near McLean School Road.

Police said five people were sent to local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

A 46-year-old Kitchener driver was charged with careless driving causing bodily harm.

Police do not specify if that driver was one of the people hurt in the crash.

Neither do they specify the ages of any injured, or what type of vehicles were involved.

The stretch of roadway around the scene was closed for six hours while police investigated and the roadway was cleaned up.
